Chocolate LogAdventure Cyclismo!
6 January
At the end of the summer, most of the guides from Ticket2RideBC quit to get some riding in and we went on a road trip. Whistler resident, Spike, joined us and we were graced with a couple of cameo appearances from North Van local and forum populist, JCL. We'd flukily picked the perfect week for weather, dry, sunny but not too hot. A week like there hadn't been all summer long - and we made the most of it. Now, normally one would expect a roadtrip to involve staying in various places on some grand adventure tour... but the reality was that I had between 4 and 6 dirtbags kipping in my apartment for the whole week. It's pretty nifty living on the Shore, and it was the ideal base to hit up some killer riding in the areas around Vancouver; e.g. The Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Chilliwack's Vedder Mountain, and the North Shore too, obviously. Each day we'd venture out via White Spot for a hearty fried breakfast and then rock out to Jon's eighties sounds in our gigantic hired Dodge Ram 4X4 pickup. This behemoth ate 6 riders, bikes and kit and still hauled ass up the forestry tracks. These guys were serious media whores, generating 3.5gb of images and video in just one week... I'm amazed we got any riding done. And that's also why it's now January and this clip is only just finished. Enjoy the clip. Happy New Year. And roll on summer 2008 for more of the same. Jim Jam... that is one fun trail. Some good singletrack and skinnies on the way to those gappers. Quality building.
