An interview with a freerider II
24 May

Born to ride, Tom and Father

Actual size

It turns out that some of us have lives when we are not wasting our time in chat rooms and we could be out riding. This new feature is an attempt to get you uncomfortably close to the people behind the pixels.

Second up under the spotlight is GREASE MONKEY.

Ten Lords-a-Leaping

It's all XC

Well, ok - nine lords and one lady (i use that term loosely) decided to embark upon a forum ride at Swinley Forest. The sun was beaming down, and the God of fro-lite was smiling upon the CF massive and their eclectic collection of bikes. Well, all except James (biscuithead), who, of either superhuman abdominal strength or Wensleydale bars, managed to bend them after crashing on the single-track on the way to the jump gully. He then did what any right thinking freerider would do in that situation, and went home to get drunk. But for the rest of us, the day had just begun.

Stunt Ramp Action

Turning over a new chapter in biking - check these mad skills from newcomers to the scene Keith Flint and Dave Lee-Travis, stolen from the New World Disorder XI video - Grand Theft Insanity Freeride Conquest.

Lucky with sister

It turns out that some of us have lives when we are not wasting our time in chat rooms and we could be out riding. This new feature is an attempt to get you uncomfortably close to the people behind pixels.

Over the coming months I'll be putting these searching questions to a broad selection of members ranging from the old school through to people who just post nice and regular.

First up for some of the truth serum is: LUCKY (pictured above on the left).

ooo... new shoes?

salsaboy, looking up

Yes, the rumours are true – radster's academy Chicksands’ Freeride & Chickshore area has had a number of its features dumped in a skip over the past week or so. But don’t despair - things are now looking up.

Hurtwood Access Forum
10 May

The Larch.

Hurtwood Forum for Mountainbiking. If you're local, or use the Surrey Hills trails lots, they why not get amongst it at this meeting, assuming there's still places left (I've been a bit slack getting this posted).

The guys at Redlands Trails already have good communications with the Hurtwood and are the only ones really doing anything about bike access issues in the area, but it won't hurt to have more voices in there.

While you're there, I think I'll be joining these folks instead. I like the way the bullet points are ordered.

Blandford Feeding Frenzy
3 May

Dirty Bomb, Blandford. All pics and vids © Kieran

This from Kieran from our trip to Blandford Freeride Park:

I like cheese and I like biking. If all jumps were made from cheese wedges I'd be in heaven. However we were at Blandford, a heavenly place for freeriding consumption. I was not riding due to a bust wrist but I had come along as Chief Goader for the day and to capture the feast. Seated were Warren (Wa), Tom (Greasemonkey), Dom (Riz) and James (Biscuithead) all looking for a slice of freeride pie.

Stuff and Nonsense from the North Downs and Around

Mong the mong

Mwah hah hah, and so on.

The Chocolate Foot empire is expanding.

Forum contributors and Peaslake big band stalwarts Jenx and Mudface have willingly been accepted into The Order of The Chocolate Foot, and have been granted access to add their own spin on things here from this day foward.
