Yeti DH prototype animation

Yeti's new downhill rig might turn a few heads when it's built.

It's full suss, on rails.

Full size pics and description were unearthed from here and here. Don't ask me how it'll cope with UK slop and grime though.

How will it cope with UK slop and grime WA?

Posted by: nick aka sexpest at September 21, 2004 07:52 AM

yuk!!

back to the steam age....

Nice thinking, it's a different approach. I do have some reservations about how it'll cope with UK slop and grime, mind you. What do you think, Wa?

Will the production frame come in a nice pencil shade too?

The action seems a bit jerky to me which and it looks to be suffering from double exposure. I'd like to say that this would be effective in UK slop and grime but I'm not sure? Maybe WA knows. Hmmm?

Always good to see new design ideas.
But with all that frippery, how will it cope with UK slop and grime? Any ideas, Wa?

Posted by: Bubba at September 21, 2004 10:58 AM

Looks like that'll be a tad expensive to buy and probably to maintain too, what with all the UK slop and grime? What do you reckon Wa?

Posted by: IainL at September 21, 2004 11:05 AM

How will it cope with slop and grime?

I have absolutely no idea.

Posted by: wa at September 21, 2004 11:09 AM

I've had a quick look and it's shit.

Thanks.

Posted by: JCL at September 21, 2004 12:19 PM

its a bit small....and there's no spring

i can't see myself fitting onto a 3 inch long frame?

Posted by: mechanical maniac at September 21, 2004 12:59 PM

JCL - yes, but have you any idea how it will cope with slop and grime?

Posted by: wa at September 21, 2004 04:48 PM

will it run ss :-D ?

AND with those stupid rails how will it cope with UK slop and grime ?

Wa, any ideas ?

Posted by: andywhit at September 21, 2004 06:19 PM

i don't like it.
questions is,how will it cope with slop and grime or even worse grop and slime?

Posted by: jedi at September 21, 2004 06:28 PM

I'm sure this is all valuable initial feedback for Yeti's spies.

One wonders whether they've thought about how it'll deal with Slop, grop, slime and grime over time.

Posted by: wa at September 21, 2004 09:15 PM

Looks big for a 6" travel bike. I'm also wondering how it will cope with the UK slop and grime. Has anyone asked WA?

Posted by: Rog at September 21, 2004 09:20 PM

i agree, looks like it could have slop, glop, grot and gloop issues but only wa will know for sure

Posted by: jedi at September 22, 2004 08:43 AM

Its got a single plane suspension action that looks to give a vertical-ish axle path so there shouldn't be much chain torque which is all good but you can get the same action with a 4bar or VPP without any random rails. IMO those rails will be full of horse piss before you can say wa...

Posted by: JCL at September 22, 2004 01:11 PM

hmm, from single pivot to no pivot. surely thats the best way of dealing with slop and grime like we get in the uk? eh wa?

Posted by: duncan at September 22, 2004 01:38 PM

i think it looks a bit like. i reckon all the slop, grime, glop, slime and horse piss will get all over the rails and then the rythmic action you can see above will be all jerky and rubbish and it'll seize and probably kill you or something...

they just haven't thought through all the issues of riding in UK's slop and grime, i have, but then, im brilliant.
