Dobbo's Cove Hummer

Dobbo's Hummer.

It's a Hummer, so it doesn't get too much nicer than that. Pretty sure it's got a nice set of Marathon's on it now.

New 2004 Marathons, and I've also replaced both of the inner tubes since that Pic was taken.

Nice, I also have a Hummer, set up with Fox Vanillas, Hopes, etc. Do you find that you suffer from chain suck? I have fitted a chain suck plate as the problem was getting so bad that it was removing bits of my chainstay!!.

Sounds like

a) Your chainset (or bits of it) are too worn
b) You don't keep your chain clean enough!
f) You're changing gear under load too much (possible bent teeth on the cogs)

Hummers are lurvely.

WA

a) chainset in good condition
(Turbine with R/Face rings
b) chain is cleaned every other ride (usually!)
f) Possibly, it always happens when you shift from the granny into the middle - although it seems worse when its wet. A mate had the same problem on his stiffee.

Its gutting to see bits of frame being gouged out especially as it cost so much and its such a nice bike to ride around the single track on N/downs, the Dekerf Team SL I got rid of to buy the Hummer had a built in chain suck plate (a good idea). I know of other Hummers that have the same problem.

I only get chainsuck when the rings are worn, it's a bad time as it means it time for a spend out, usually rings chain and cassette.....
