Quantock Jaunt
6 January

The Quantock Hills has some of the best singletrack I've ridden anywhere in the UK. It's taken some time to sort out, but here's a route that takes in a few of the local gems.

This heads out from the friendly and cheap Orchard Caravan Park.

Also see this Top Ten Quantock Downhills if you want to plan a few variations. There's easily enough riding for a long weekend, and exmoor's just down the road too.

There's a good Guardian Article that sums up the pain quite well. These hills aren't fucking about.

Fantastic route , killed us but had loads of singletrack fun on lots of varied terrain.
Campsite was a winner too with heated swimmingpool to rest the weary post ride limbs.

Glad you liked it mate. Almost all of those bridleways are worth a blast. Need to get down that way again soon. Exmoor's got some gems too.

Looks like an epic ride! But which loop did you do first after going across the ridge? Did you do the loop on the left, the weacombe/bicknoller one or the one on the right, the smith combe one? I don't suppose it really matters which one you do first cause you can just go on and do the other after easily enough. I was just curious.

It was a few years ago now! But we did Weacombe first.
