Here's the loop we did around Llyn Brianne taking in a 7km singletrack alongside the Afon Doethie.
It's a cracker, and being < 15 miles means it's ideal for a quick blast, although you'll need to bring spare clothes as you WILL get covered in shite, no matter what the weather.

Route Info
- Start at the Dam. Soak up the view.
- Follow the track across the dam and right through the forest until
you reach the only building for miles around - the remotest church
in Wales apparently.
- Go up the steep rocky track here. I reckon you'll be walking within
50ft but there's no shame in that.
- Follow this track across the boggy moorland hilltops.
- As it starts to descend, keep your eye out for a gate on your left
on a steep zig zag in the path. It's so tempting to blast straight
down, but resist - as this is the start of the Afon Doethie trail.
- Follow this trail all the way down to the new houses. 7km of classic
singletrack.
- When you eventually hit the farm track, follow it left until you
reach some newly built houses. Take the path forking left up and
over the hilltops back to the dam.
